The name
Why "Aajir"?
In Urdu, Aajir (آجر) means the person who employs others — the employer, the one who creates opportunity. We chose this name deliberately. When you build a successful store, you don't just grow your revenue. You create livelihoods.

Built for the local market
Shopify and WooCommerce were not designed for Pakistan. We built Aajir from scratch around the realities of local sellers: PKR billing, Urdu language, local couriers, and local payment gateways.
Simplicity over complexity
We believe a founder should not need a developer or a stack of plugins to run a serious online store. If something can be built in, it should be — not sold separately.

Our story
Why we built Aajir
Pakistan has no shortage of entrepreneurial ambition. What it's lacked is a commerce platform that meets sellers where they are — in PKR, in Urdu, with the courier and payment providers they already use.
We saw founders spending hours configuring Shopify plugins for Urdu support, losing money on USD subscription fees, and manually managing courier bookings because no platform connected the pieces. Aajir was built to change that.

The problem
Pakistani founders were paying USD subscription fees on Shopify, juggling five plugins on WooCommerce, and still couldn't get proper Urdu support or local payment integrations out of the box.

We started building Aajir with one conviction: Pakistani sellers deserve a platform built specifically for them — not a global tool awkwardly adapted for the local market.
